Super Salim 
We met Salim outside our apartment and made use of his good services for two days traveling with his tuktuk to e.g. the impressive Amber fort, the beautiful step wells ands to the pink city of Jaipur. I met Salim by complete luck outside my hotel – Umaid Mahal. Having spent the last two days with Salim exploring Jaipur I can safety say he is the most genuine person I’ve met in all of India. I can’t thank Salim enough for taking my friend and I around in his Tuk tuk. He was our personal driver for 3 days. So polite and his tuk tuk was clean. He is an excellent driver. His English is pretty good. He was always there to pick us up and drop us off. He had very good recommendations for restaurants also. He showed us and explained buildings as we drove by. He has great recommendations for places to go, is willing to drive to less touristy spots, and often knows shortcuts. He is punctual and very funny! We met salim for a short drive and arranged a meeting for a tour to fort amber the next day because he spoke good english and was friendly but ..the next day,he sent his ‘nephew’,not quite the same! I don t like when you don t keep your end of the bargain…it s a shame because we would really have liked to spend a day with him..

Luckily for us we met supersalim outside our hotel in Jaipur. My friend and I spent 3 wonderful days being driven around by him. He is polite , always punctual and we felt very safe with him. He knew the best places to take us. We had a fab time with him he’s not pushy like a lot of the other tuk tuk drivers and his prices are really good ! He is a modest and polite gentleman and it was a pleasure meeting him. So if your ever in Jaiphur make sure you use this mans services !

We were in Jaipur in February and we met Salim right at the door of our hotel. We were very happy we met him. He took us everywhere we wanted to go for the whole day and even took us to a really cool restorant. We really wanted to buy spices so he drove us to a nice shop. The next day we dealt a time to meet and again he dove us to the places we wanted to visit and to the elephant vilage. Salim made our experience in Jaipur much easier and he speaks good English. We were very happy with Salim’s sevice! Thank you Salim.

Salim took us to some shops with some very nice, none-pushy people.
He is a driver that knows his way and speaks good English.
He is friendly, correct and doesn’t try to rip you off.

Super Salim for a Super Ride!
Our hotel called Salim when we asked for a ride to Amber Fort and the Jal Mahal. Salim showed up promptly, albeit with a hole in the top of his tuk-tuk which he attributed to a dog that fell through the roof. He took us to Amber Fort and showed us the sights along the way, and waited patiently at the entry to the fort while we toured it for couple of hours. When we met with him again (hole in the roof fixed), we asked him to take us to Jaigarh Fort (not on the original agenda), and he agreed for a small extra charge. After that, he took us to the Jal Mahal and back to our hotel. He’s friendly, honest, not pushy, and arranges services other than tuk-tuks if you want something larger. However, for driving around the narrow streets of Jaipur, a tuk-tuk is recommended.
Super Salim captures the quintessential spirit of Jaipur and we had an amazing experience with him in a short ride👍👍👍

Super Salim was the best driver we had! There were a couple of drivers we have had in the past that would take us to tourist shops but Salim does not do that unless you request to go shopping. Very friendly man that was very accommodating to our needs! He also showed us the 2 best restaurants for lunch! we had a great time with Salim and would definitely go with him again if we are ever in Jaipur again.

He was brilliant and showed us all the major attractions (including the tourist traps to look out for) and some amazing spots that we would not have seen without him. I met Super Salim last year because my regular driver was not available. He said ”I know you, you live around here I see you almost everyday. Do you need to go somewhere?” And I did, to a small shop buried in oone of the side streets of Johari Bazaar. He drove me there and got out with me askimg anyone and everyone until we found the shop. Then he took me to another area where I needed a specific service, it was on the other side of town. For those who don’t know Salim also has a car an old Ambassador sill in good shape but the AC’s not the strongest; regardless he will get you there. Never cheated me on the price–of course I know the prices I come every year–and he never tried to hustle me to any specific shop, which I greatly appreciate. Today I also learned through him that the very first tuk-tuk driver I befriended here in Jaipur 11 years ago has just passed away a few weeks ago, leaving behind a wife and 6 children. Those people’s lives are not that easy. Salim is a gem.
Super Salim is the best person ever! I’m in the process of sending him a t shirt and some key rings from Australia and I most highly recommend him for any tours in Rajasthan. Xxx
We had a fun day with Super Salim last October, so much that we would hire his super services if we were to start our own tuk tuk company in Montreal (Canada) but I;m not sure tuk tuks would do well in the snow here (Hey Salim, do these machines come equipped with snow tires. Just used Super Salim’s services after reading this web page and getting annoyed by the previous nights tuk tuk driver who was very obviously after my money and quoted me an outrageous day rate for the following day. Salim was very honest. I paid him what he said and he didn’t ask for more. Every driver gets a cut of what you buy from the local shops, but he knew some great stores and didn’t pressure me to shop if I wasn’t interested. Thanks for the Chai Salim! Namaste from USA!

February is a great month to be a tourist in Rajahstan, but as this is wedding time all the taxis are normally taken.. But our wonderful hotel, the Shapura House, found Super Salim and his supercharged Tuk Tuk, to take us to our restaurant. The trip at rush hour was one of the highlights of our visit to India. Super Salim, took the corners like a Formula One driver, and edged his way from the back of the grid to the pole position at every turn. Perhaps there should be a Formula One race for Tuk Tuks in Jaipur?
On our last night we reserved dinner at The Rambagh Palace, a rather elegant restaurant in the hotel of that name. Super Salim felt that his Ambassador limousine (An Indian version of the Morris Oxford), was more appropriate as the drive from the main road to the restauarant was about half a kilometer, and no Tuk Tuks were allowed. So we arrived in great style, and great speed up the drive.
Super Salim was our driver for the rest of our stay in Jaipur – his enthusiasm and laughter at life’s challenges were a tonic and helped us get the maximum enjoyment from our visit. He recommended restauarants all of which were very good and places of interest to visit which we normally would not have considered.
Thanks Super Salim for our time in Jaipur – we are recommending you to all our friends who visit Jaipur, and hope that the Jaipur authorities recognise your contribution to the tourist trade in the city of the Hotel Marigold, with a hospitality award – you desewrve it.

Salim saved my trip (maybe my life)!
I HAVE TO TELL YOU PEOPLE THIS STORY! It shows why supersalim is really worth to be called SUPERSALIM!
It was on the 14th of January this year. I spend the day with my friend Samir in Jaipur at his families and friends place to enjoy the kitfestival. It was a sunny beautiful day and it was one of my top experiences in india. Kitefighting the whole day…so much fun. After we sat together in the backyard of a house near Mainroad everybody left and went home. Samir explained me the way to my guesthouse in which he thought that I would stay, because he told me and my sister two days before to sleep there. But that guesthouse was too expensive. So we stayed in another one. That was the problem!!! He didn’t know that we changed the place!!!
With just 100Rs in my pocket, no cellphone no businesscard of the guesthouse or map(niether did I know the name of my guesthouse – only that it was something with st…) I started walking the direction Samir told me to go.
After 4km of walking I ask some random rikscha-driver if he knows a guesthouse that started with St.. and that looks like I explained him(I could only remember the front door which was dark and the large stairs), but he didn’t know one in the area of Jaipur in which I was at that moment. But he drove me around for the 100Rs. We ask a lot of other rikscha drivers and random stranger if they would know the place. But nobody knew. When the 100Rs were gone and it was already 9pm the rikscha driver apologized and stopped. So I started walking around to look for my guesthouse but couldn’t find it. At this moment I already resigned that I would sleep somehwere outside under a bridge or on the sidewalk (it was 5 degrees at nighttime). But what would my sister waiting in the guesthouse think worried where I am? And how would I ever find her again? I’m sure she would call for police but in a big city like Jaipur that wouldn’t help a lot.
So, I walked around for two hours, asked in every shop and hotel but nobody could help me. Than all of a sudden a rikscha behind me started honking and the driver ask me to stop. That was I got to know SUPERSALIM. Apperently, he was one of the random rikschadrivers I ask befor by explaining my guesthouse. He said that he thought about what I said and he is glad that he found me again. He might know the place I’m talking about. But the guesthouse he knows is in a completely different area of Jaipur. He knew that the owner was a old christian man that speaks a little bit wierd (things that I dind’t mention before). He said that he wants to drive me there. I had nothin to loose although I was pretty sure that it can’t be the place in which I staid because my friend Samir told me it had to be here.(by that time I didn’t knew that he didn’t knew that we switched the guesthouse). Supersalim took me with his Rikschat to this guesthouse in a complete different area from where I was walking around and HELL YEAH! it was my guesthouse. I was so happy its undescribable. I was jumping around and hugging him and told him he should wait. I wanted to go to my room and get the money for the ride he just gave me. But he insisted of taking me to the guesthouse for free. He was so happy too and so thankful that he could help me and solve my problem. That gives him more than anything else in the world, he said. I couldn’t believe it and went to my room. I’didn’t know that this kind of mandkind exists.
Supersalim is probably one ot the kindest persons I ever met.
I will ever be thankful for what he did for me.

Salim found us the first day and gave us avery good price with no negotiation as he does not like it, a welcome suprise after several days negotiating for everything. He the recommended us an excellent restaurent called Ganesh, serving really good Indian food (300 Rupees all included for 2 people) The next day we went to find Salim and he even interupted preparing his dinner to transport us. By far the most honest, friendliest, safest rickshaw driver in all of India. In our 3 weeks stay in India, out of the countless rickshaw drivers we used he was the first and only one to say to me “I dont negotiate for the price because I think it is a fair one”. He never pushed or tricked us into visiting shops, he was happy and friendly, even negotiated local prices for entry into one of palaces ! Wow, what a great guy. We were in India for our Honeymoon and stumbled upon Super Salim near to our hotel the Madhuban. The hotel was great but meeting Salim made our stay in Jaipur so much better.

His English is excellent and he does not pressure you to buy at his friends’ shops.
Why not call him before you arrive using the contact info on his web page? Salim will pick you up a the airport or train station and you’ll avoid all the touts and madness as you arrive.
Or contact him from your hotel. He is often at his station outside the Umaid Mahal Hotel.

we were in Jaipur last Diwali and met salim outside our hotel. He took us round the city and showed us some great spots in jaipur. We asked our parents to buy some fireworks after the diwali displays and they said they didnt know where to get them. The next day salim presented us with two packs of firecrackers saying, as usual, “for friendship” he showed us all sorts of interesting points around jaipur and seemed to know everybody in the city. We cannot reccomend him enough. GO SALIM.

We had the great chance to meet SuperSalim outside our hotel in Jaipur. We spend almost 2 days in september 2009 with him and he took us to amazing places, ones you may not always find in your guidebook. His sightseeing, shopping and restaurant recomendations were great, and his prices really fair.
he even taught us how to drive his super rickshaw!(not as easy as it looks!!)
His english is perfect, and he is easy to talk to about anything!
we would definately recomend him to anyone visiting Jaipur.he definately lives up to his name of supersalim.

I had two daily trips with Supersalim on January 23th and 24th 2009 and I have to say: Salim is a very good choice to travel by Tuc Tuc in Jaipur. The prizes are fair and Salim didn’t push me to go anywhere. I had always the choice where to go. However I had the wish to make some photos of jewel and tailor production – without buying anything. Salim took me to these places and it was no problem, just making photos and not buying anything. And he knew where to go and to do so. However I bought some earrings (because I wanted to do so) and the prizes were okay in my eyes. So Salim also knows good places to go shopping.
Furthermore it was comfortable have a ride with him because he uses his horn very seldom.
Supersalim is to be recommended! :-)
Hi Salim, We met you by coincidence in the streets of Jaipur, after having bumped into so many rip-off drivers. When trying to negotiate the price, you kindly surprised us by saying “I hate to negotiate, the price I give you is fair, and I’m not going to change it”. And you were right! You helped us to look behind the curtains of Indian life today, and you were one of the few people in India who we trusted. Listening to the wisdom of a calm driver (who does not use the horn!) was a true pleasure and it made us understand so much more about the culture, the importance of the family bands, and what really matters for people in India.

What a character! He drove us to our destination and when we bumped into him again, he offered to take us to our restaurant for free, “For friendship.” was his response.
We met SuperSalim one night and he greeted us with the words ” Hello, I know you, I know where you live – you always walk by me every day – if you want I offer you a free ride home…I go there anyway… You can trust me.”
He is definitely the most amazing driver I have so far met in India and completely changed the image I had so far. Thank you for making our trip to India unique!!!
